Merci beaucoup.

AM : Where are you from?

I and the band are from Stockholm in Sweden.

When and how did you meet each others?

Crucified Barbara was formed back in 1998. I joined the band as a lead guitarist in 2000, so the others met before and started to play. I met the girls at a party in the suburbs of Stockholm. I was looking for a new band and they were looking for another guitarist. We thought why not try to rehearse and see if it works, and it did!

Where does your band name come from?

Barbara comes from the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, a huge and great festival, which I hope we would play one day! Barbara in Sweden is a name for these blow up dolls. The other girls were at this festival and they saw a guy put this kind of blow up doll on a cross. They thought it was a really hilarious look and they said, let's go home and write a song about this crucified barbara and it just ended up being the band name, instead.

Why did you choose to play rock metal and not another kind of music?

(c) Copyright Rock-Interviews.com Video

It was just calling me! When I was young my mum put me in a music school for playing accordion. I didn't think it was really much fun but I did it for some years. Then my younger sister got an acoustic guitar. I took it to my room and started to learn, figure out how to play it. Then me and my friends at school discovered bands like Nirvana. We listened to their songs and played them. So that's how it all started, and it has never stopped.

How many albums have you released?

(c) Copyright Rock-Interviews.com Video

We have just released our fourth album. Our first one was ten years ago.

AM : The latest one is called...

In The Red. It was released in September. We are touring with that album right now. It is great.

What do you like to do when you are not on tour?

(c) Copyright Rock-Interviews.com Video

I like to do a lot of things. The main thing that I like to do when I am home is horse riding. I also like to be in the nature and to draw stuff.

Is it easy to be a girl in the music business?

(c) Copyright Rock-Interviews.com Video

We are having a good time. It is a difficult question because we don't know how it is to be a man in this band. We just focus on playing music and don't try to think too much about what other people are thinking, unless they like us, then we think about it!

You are really engaged in your lyrics.

(c) Copyright Rock-Interviews.com Video

Yes, I think it's important, even if you write like rock'n'roll lyrics or more serious subjects. It's essential to work a lot on them because I have to sing them every day and I want listeners to really feel them.

AM : Thank you very much for your time Mia, you are very welcome on our website rock-interviews.com
